Joining the Gaited Horses Ring WebRing

How to Join the Ring

Fill in and submit the Submit Site form on this page. When you submit the form, your site will be entered into the WebRing queue. You will be automatically assigned a Site ID number and be given access to your customized HTML code fragment and the WebRing graphics to place on your site. This customized code will be the default code option for the Ring. You should also receive an automatic email confirmation of your registration. This confirmation email includes your assigned Site ID number, password, and a copy of your customized default HTML code fragment. (If you don't get this confirmation almost immediately, there may have been an email error. Write down and save your Site ID number and password from the confirmation web page in your browser.)

Download the Gaited Horse Ring graphic(s) to your computer, and upload them to your personal website directory. To download the image(s), place your cursor over each image, click and hold the mouse on the image (right-click for PCs) until the option menu appears. Choose "save image to disk" (or other similar option), and choose a file on your hard drive for the downloaded image(s). Do not change the name(s) of the image(s), or they will not appear properly in the webring code. After successfully downloading the image(s) to your own computer, you must then upload them to your personal website directory as you would any other file. The webring HTML code fragment will be looking for them there.

Copy your customized WebRing HTML code fragment from the confirmation web page or email  and paste it into the appropriate location on your web site, on the page that you submitted when you joined.  Your customized HTML code is what identifies and links your website to the rest of the Ring.

*After* adding the code fragment and graphic(s) to your website, send an email to the Ringmistress of the Gaited Horses Ring WebRing requesting addition to the ring. Please include your Site ID Number and URL. If you have not added the HTML code fragment and graphic(s) to your page and notified the Ringmistress within two weeks, your site will be automatically deleted from the queue.

Upon receipt of your email, the Ringmistress will review your site for addition to the ring, checking the correctness of your HTML code fragment, graphic(s), and site's appropriateness for the WebRing. If your site meets all requirements, it will be added to the ring. The Ringmistress reserves the sole right to determine any site's appropriateness for this WebRing.

If you have any problems or questions pertaining to the WebRing membership process, please don't hesitate to email the Webmistress for help. Be sure to include an exact and complete description of your problem or question in order to assure the most helpful response.
